The Monster Manual seems to apply the "spider climb" property to some critters (such as Carrion Crawler's "Speed 6, climb 6 (spider climb)"), but I can't find a definition. There is, of course, the Warlock spell Spider Climb, "You bestow on yourself the ability to cling to almost any surface and climb as easily as an insect... you move with a climb speed equal to your speed."
So, did I miss the term's definition somewhere? If not, does the MM use of the term just mean "cling to any surface" and "climb speed equal to your speed", or is there some more detail to it? I'm also assuming that they could crawl on the ceiling and whatnot.
Some of my 2nd level party has been complaining that it's been "too easy" (and they're 2/3 done with no deaths thus far), so I'm also putting a Tangler Beetle and a Carrion Crawler into the _Keep on the Shadowfell_ rat and yellow ochre jelly cave. The goblins use that room as a garbage / morgue, so the easily-available rotting food and dead bodies have attracted all sorts of feeders from throughout the cave system (which the kruthiks in the next encounter will often hunt). If that encounter proves too hard for them (I'm suspecting that it won't), they can always back out of the room or throw down some food to distract them.
