Monster Manual Humans?

One thing that has changed is that there is no longer a "normal man" in the game anymore. Every human has a class (PC or NPC). Humanoids can still be just humanoids but humans have to have a level of something.

Cityscape has a good list of human opponents. Guards, thieves, etc. They even have a mob of children. :)
Ideal for those DMs who don't care whether the stat blocks they use are correct or not, or who have taken the time to note John Cooper's errata (in his review).

I'd like to have humans in the MM, with stats for typical city guards (War 2), berserkers (barbarian 5), thugs (rogue 3), knight/champion (fighter 10), etc, like they did in the DMG 2 for Anti-Paladin, Bounty Hunter, Tribal Shaman, Giant Slayer, etc.

The NPCs in the DMG 1 are nice, but there's no stat block to speed things up (and there's no NPC-classed NPCs there).

I agree. I'd love to see something like that in print.

actually... if you take a look at most, if not all, of the Humanoid races in the MM, you will note a sentence which states something to the effect of "The above stat block is for a 1st-level warrior..." so, it's not just humans that are that way. :)

as the "Monster Guy" you kind of have to know these things...

i flipped through the book, just to be sure of what i was talking about. on page 101 you see "Most elves encountered outside their homes are warriors; the information presented here is for one of 1st level."

in fact, you will see a similar line for *all* 1-HD Humanoids (not Monstrous Humanoids) in the MM.
