Ever since I learned about the scaly-footed snail, which sports an iron shell, and lives around deep sea thermal vents in the Indian Ocean, I've wanted to turn it into a D&D monster.

It's very good as a straight port. But 5e never damages magic armour, and even damaging normal armour would be extraordinary. I'd need to think a bit about an appropriate translation, but this is a great basis! Thanks!

Not sure why, but the AC/DC song "Hell's Snails"....I mean "Hell's Bells"...or is it "Hell's Snails"...ran through my mind...

Good observations. I've made some modifications to bring the 5e version more in line with the 5e giant slug.

I've also added a "Damage Armor & Shields" ability based on the "Corrode Metal" ability from the 5e gray ooze.
