Monster Special Quality - Energy Affinity?

Shane_Leahy

First Post
Getting ready to run an adventure tonight and while reading the statblock I noticed something I did not see before. The monster in question has the special quality Negative Energy Affinity. Now I have no idea what this does, so off to the Monster Manuals and d20 SRD and nothing there.

Any ideas?

Thanks

A quick Google search found this in the Epic Monsters section of the SRD.

Negative Energy Affinity (Su)

Any negative energy spell targeted at the colossus repairs damage taken by the colossus at the rate of 1d10 hit points per level of the spell.

If you can supply the creature, it might make it easier to find the exact information you need.

Sorry, couldn't find anything other than the the bit from the Colossus entry. I did find a thread on Paizo's website about the adventure and the author made some posts. Someone had asked about the ability, but the author never responded.

You can find the thread here.

I'm running that part of the module this weekend. Negative Engery Affinity means that if the creature is hit with negative energy, the creature is healed that amount instead of harmed. Just like Cause Serious Wounds would heal an undead creature.

When I looked it up, it was a feat/ability from a book I didn't have, so it's not part of the Core Rules and I think it was an oversight that they didn't define it in the module like they
do other special abilities.

From the Draconomincum(sp):

Negative Energy Affinity (Ex): Negative energy damage heals a gravewyrm as if it were an undead creature.
