Monster Vault tidbits

I'm pouring over the MV, and while I very much like the new focus on fluff, I also found myself smiling at some of the really cool mechanical things that these beasties can pull off.

The one highlighted in the Wizards podcast was the Displacer Beast's ability to phase out of time and space on an odd roll, nullifying most of these attacks useless. (or something like that)

I'll start with the Ghoul (p126)

Traits: Weakened Paralysis
Whenever a ghoul takes radiant damage, one creature immobilized or
stunned by the ghoul can make a saving throw against one of those
effects.

I LOVE it! Now, maybe that was there in the MM1 Ghouls, but I don't remember. This shows a lot of the outside-the-box thinking since 4e has been evolving.

What else did you find that was cool? Most of the awesome parts seem to come from Traits and Triggered Actions

If you look at the ghoul, you'll find it's lost radiant vulnerability and instead that counts as its vulnerability now. This is a far superior mechanic to the original bonus damage and is actually very useful (considering the bonus damage they get on enemies who are stunned).
