Monsters, extra actions, and Shapechange

Does anyone have a list of all the creatures that can take more than the standard allotment of actions? Here's what I have so far:

Choker
Chronotyryn (Fiend Folio)
Aspect of Demigorgon (MiniHB)

There is some other creature that could take an extra move or standard action, 9 times per day, as an Ex ability. Can't remember where I saw that though. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, say a PC shapechanges into a Choker for the extra action. Next round, he moves up to the BBEG wizard with the extra action, shapechanges into a Twelve-Headed Hydra, and full attacks. Legal?

On a tangent: the Hydra has the ability to regrow two heads when one is chopped off. Is this an Ex or Su ability? Does this mean that, to prep for a battle, a PC could Shapechange into a Hydra and have someone chop off his heads so he could get 24?

1st: aldo the "Monster of legend" (MMII) template provides that extra action

2nd: remember that the hydra would have an... important... loss of hp

The mithril golem from the epic level handbook (I know...3.0) had extra actions (it was permanently hasted). Ettins have two heads, and each head controls an arm (and I guess that each arm could be performing a seperate action).

Just checked the SRD...regen is extraordinary, and to quote the ability, "Creatures with regeneration can regrow lost portions of their bodies..." which sounds like the hydra ability (although far slower).
Also, it does not say under the hydra description that the ability is stopped by antimagic.
And, as a note "To prevent a severed head from growing back into two heads, at least 5 points of fire or acid damage must be dealt to the stump...". That sounds like regen to me.

Interesting. I'm thinking Monk 1/Wizard 7/Master Transmogrifist 10/Warshaper 2. Polymorph into a Hydra for 12 attacks, use Infinite Variety to gain 8 Tentacle attacks from the Giant Octopus, and have people cut off your heads until you get 24. And you keep the two unarmed strike attacks from Monk.

Cast Tenser's Transformation on youself for the BAB bonus. Grand total of 36 attacks. You can flurry and haste, too. That's 38.

Take Arcane Strike and burn up a level 7 slot (highest you have) for an additional 7d4 x38 damage. If they all hit, you deal an additional 665 damage on average - this is not counting the damage you actually do with 38 attacks.

That's LOOODACRIS! Where might I find the Master Transmogrifist and Warshaper PrC's?

If all that comes out legal, I need to start statting up an epic encounter.....

Master Transmogrifist is from Complete Arcane. Warshaper is from Complete Warrior. Only the first is necessary, for the 8 tentacle rakes and the ability to assume Ex abilities. Warshaper is just nice to have - two levels give you immunity to criticals and +4 stackable Strength and Constitution while Polymorphed.

Even a straight-up Monk 1/Wizard 17 can be pretty scary with Shapechange and 30 attacks (24 hydra +4 unarmed strike +1 flurry +1 haste).

Without wishing to hijack this thread by re-opening that old debate, I don't believe you can flurry and use natural weapons, it's one or the other.

Only costs you one attack from the 30, though. :D

glass.

It probably isn't a good idea anyway. An extra attack when you have 29 isn't enough to justify -2 to hit on the other ones.
