Monte Cook's secret project

Great...another book about evil.

Since when did being evil become trendy? Just a little annoyed is all...since I have been making evil aligned material for a while now and all of a sudden everyone starts saturating the market with it.

How about "The Book of Fluffy Bunnies and Paladins"?

Hi,
How about the Tome of Leadership and Influence. A book that tells you how to lead armies into battle or how to rule kingdoms or something like that.
Just a guess as I havent read about anyone guessing it.

Tome of Leadership and Influence? I like that idea, too, and was thinking along similar lines when I started thinking it might be the BoVD. As a matter of fact, maybe they could do a whole line on those books that give you the inherent bonuses like the ToLaI. I think the perfect choice to follow up LaI would have to be the Manual of Gainful Exercise. After all, most of us role players, myself included, are probably in dire need of a diet and exercise program, and why not turn to WotC to give us one? hehe.

Perhaps not D&D...

Perhaps whatever he's thinking of isn't D&D itself...

....I dunno. The guy's writing Call of Cthulu...my guess (mostly based on the "icky goodness" hint) is that it has something to do with that. I could be WAY off, but I wouldn't think they're just putting out the d20 rules and leaving it at that. :)

I can't remember where, but I am certain that I've seen a paragraph somewhere official (like in one of the books or something) stating that D&D is designed specifically to be played by a good aligned party. As such, and give the general populaces views about D&D already, I doubt WoTC would publish a sourcebook about playing evil characters.

Poll

Personally, I'd guess it's either the Book of Vile Darkness or the Tome of Leadership and Influence. Based on these and some other likely items from the DMG, I've started a poll here . Vote for what you think the secret project is.
