Man on the Silver Mountain
Monte's last RPG should be out Thurs at Gen Con. My players expressed a desire to start our next campaign at higher than 1st level and to play monsters. MCWoD seems to fit the bill nicely.
I'm surprised I haven't seen more discussion on the book. The Awakened class looks great with lots of interesting abilities (one class ability at each level) but still human.
I also like the way skills are done. Pick one of four sets of skills (and a +2 bonus to one related ability score). That set of skills is class for your current level. Does away with the need for multi-classing nicely (which wouldn't work in this game).
The setting is also nice from a roleplaying perspective. Horror in the post modern world with a hint of post-apocolypse in the middle of the US. Vampires have multiple souls, werewolfs have multiple bodies, and demons aren't human at all. The ideas seem great and suggest many, many stories for both PCs and NPCs.
I wish White Wolf would release some actual page shots but I guess I'll just have to wait till Friday to see the book itself.
