Monthly Listing?

So is there a monthly listing by company and product of which products are coming out? I know that individual links and web sites have individual material, but I'd love to see a page where you can just look at it and say, "Gee, this is the month I need to get a third job to support the habbit."

That would be nice, but hard to do. Many books are pushed back or delayed for whatever reason. If someone were to do this, he'd have to have the co operation from all the companies. The person who did this might have to send polite e-mails to the companies to ask for updates on the up coming releases.

I don,t think many of the companies themselves know when the products are coming out. Some not all of the companies have way over ambitious schedules. For example Privateergames oringinally said that Monsternomicom was coming out last summer now they are saying may? well see.

Green Ronin has an ad in the back of legions of hell that says freeport will be out in november that was 5 months ago.

Are the companies doing this on purpose? Of course not its just that I think sometimes they underestimate how long the product will take and when one product gets moved up all the other ones do to.

And finally as we all have found out this week many of these companies are owned by people such as Chris Pramas who intil thursday in his case had a day job to go to.I have to wonder if a lot of the winter slow down wasn't total burnout on his part But Green Ronin is my favorite D20 publisher and I own every D20 prouduct they have produced

So asking these companies to come up with a reliable schedule on releases is nothing short of impossible. But I suppose we can all dream.

Perhaps not a relible list of when things are coming out, but it would at least be a good resource to see everything that's being planned all in one place. AS the months get closer, the accuracey of the lists will get better.

I just went and looked at their release schedule. They were reasonably up to date for Fantasy Flight products, but there was also a whole suite of products that aren't anywhere near out production schedule. :) All I'm saying is, don't get mad at a publisher if a 3rd party site has an incorrect listing or release date. :)

You're half right, but not the way you think. The winter slowdown did have something to do with my day job, but it wasn't burn out. I had four (yes four) authors on three different projects all blow their deadlines in a very short period of time. That meant that I had to do design work on two books and development work on another one that I had not planned to have to do, and do it when not at my day job.

These days two things should prevent that sort of thing from happening again. First, authors are working out far enough ahead that we're seeing manuscripts 3-6 months ahead of their release date (thus giving us a cushion). Second, and you said it yourself, I'm through with WotC and will be devoting my full time to GR.

In short, our schedule should be reliable from this month forward.

I must say that I have a hard time trying to keep up with all the d20 products. It is really hard when there are around a hundred publishers or websites that I have to search through for information and then put it together into a webpage with little or no compensation. Oh, well. Back to work...

Sorry Chris I didn't mean to imply that all the slow down was solely your fault. But woking nights and weekends is rough beleive me I know.

Any way when products get announced for a certain time I get excited,Then diasappointed when they don't come.I'm really glad to hear that won't be happening anymore.

Oh and I'm sorry you got laid off But delighted you are going to be putting more time into Green Ronin Keep up the good work And don't miss any more dealines! Just kidding!

I believe Morrus and a techie volunteer are reworking the d20 system guide to mesh with the d20 reviews system. Ideally that should allow all sorts of sorting that aren't available with the current system -- sorting by date, by type of product, by availability, by # of stars in a revew, and not just by publisher as I arranged it. At one point I was trying to do a "here's what's coming this month and what's coming next month" type listing but Morrus has stopped doing that, and probably for the same reason I disliked it -- so many publishers missed their target dates.
