Moorcockian 3e?

I thnk FFG's "Portals & Planes" probably comes the closest to having guidance for how to run more Moorcockian (is that a word?) style planar travelling than what you get in the MoTP, etc.

I'm thinking the novels and series where interplanar travel is a fundamental part of the premise, especially those series where there are strongly defined alternate worlds that each make some sense - eg the first Corum series, the Erekose series, the Oswald Bastable series and the second Hawkmoon series. Actually not so much Elric, 1st Hakmoon or 2nd Corum, as these are more one-worlders, or Cornelius (too trippy).

Not so much in Elric?

Vanishing Tower?

Sailor on the Seas of Fate?

The location of Mournblade and Stormbringer in the first novel?

Elric various trips to historical Earth in the novel Stormbringer?

We must be reading different series.

A good cycle to check out if you're looking for interplanar type stuff is the War Amongst the Angels "trilogy"- Fabulous Harbors, Blood, and War Amongst the Angels. It's not typical fantasy- not swords and sorcery- and you're not familiar with his work and the basic concepts of Moorcock's multiverse, it can be a little dense, but there are a lot of really great ideas that can be plumbed from this series for interplanar campaigns, particularly somewhat "off-beat"/non-standard planar campaigns.

There's lots of planar travel in the later Elric stories but the alternates in Elric tend to be much more briefly seen & less fully sketched out than those in eg the first Corum series. I'm not saying Elric is 'un-Moorcockian' though! :)

Like Joe said, if you are a fan of his, you should check out his sites. While I might disagree with him on some things, he's a very very nice guy.

(Actually, reminds me a lot of Gary Gygax...)

Actually the Corum and Hawkmoon addons for Stormbringer, are pretty good.

I play in a convention game with the writer of the hawkmoon book, so I have a playtest copy, Im not sure what and if, it will be published.

Quoting Cartman... "I hate you guys so much..." end quote...

Ah, Hawkmoon. If only I was smart enough to have at least bought the boxed set back in the day instead of just the Shattered Isle for use with both genres.
