D&D 5E Morality Dilemma?

Didn't go so well in game. Fleshed it out a bit.

The Warforged serve a human lifetime and then get freed. Some are created free for other reasons.

Gnomes see them as sentient but since they created them.

Stole the lord of blades idea but made him a revolutionary.

They asked questions and the PC Warforged chose to side with Gnomes. The reason being the Gnomes were more useful now vs Warforged. If the Warforged revolted and won they would be more useful later.

They're basically going around looking for support vs an impending invasion.

If they triggered a revolt but won the first battle the Gnomes might support the invaders.

They got limited support from the Dragonborn empire.

Shame, I would have thought that a warforged player would have had a bigger problem buying warforged slaves, if there was a choice in the matter. I guess this is the problem when people pretend to be things they’re not. Also why having moral dilemmas like this in games is pretty distasteful.

He said he did it because it's the opposite of what his views irl are and he has played his character as pro gnome as his characters sees them as creators.

They're immune to things real life slaves had to deal with and they get set free so it's more indentured servitude.

One player said it was like a video game decision which was where I got the idea from so busted.

If they didn't get the Gnomes help there's a fleet of slavers heading their way.

If another player didn't care and wanted to go fight a sleeping dragon. Said dragons an illusion but they didn't know that although one attempted a save and flunked it.

If I was that Warforged PC (presuming he's Good aligned), I would have immediately freed the Slaves on purchase.

That's one way they can do it. The Gnomish council said they wanted the rebels killed, one player thought they said deal with it (he talks over people alot).

They did ask if good aligned people could buy them I said yes if you freed them (if possible).
