More epic half-dragons

The Epic Bestiary -Volume One presents new epic dragons like the force and prismatic dragons in the Epic Level Handbook.

In Races of the Dragon, they present all kinds of half-dragons based on other true dragons aside from the regular chromatic and metallic. Among these half-breeds, there are the force and prismatic half-dragons. The force half-dragon gains a cone of force that deals 6d8 points of damage, as the template. The prismatic dragon gains a breath weapon similar to the searing light spell at caster level 8th. It's a ranged touch attack, that deals 4d8 points of damage, but increases according to the targeted creatures. It's not prismatic spray but it makes sense.

So I though, why not make options for half-dragons based on those new epic dragons.

Cometary half-dragon: gains resistance to cold 20 and fire 20 / cone of pulsing time energy / Lawful neutral

*Note: if a true dragon has two immunities to energy, it says to give two resistances instead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Platinum half-dragon: immune to cold and disease/ cone of divine sound (half damage sonic, half damage holy) / Lawful Good
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Polychromatic half-dragon: resistance to acid 10, cold 10, electricity 10 and fire 10/ cone of acid, cold or fire OR line of acid or electricity/ Any Evil / LA +1

*Note: the polychromatic has immunities based on the dragon's polymorphic nature, so the half-dragon gains resistance 10; it may choose which breath weapon to use and if it can use its breath weapon more than once, it may choose another shape and energy; since it gains more than one breath weapon, it's worth an additional +1 to LA
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Timber half-dragon: none / cone of dehydration (deals 8d8 to plants and creatures with the water subtype)/ Any Neutral
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Titanium half-dragon: immunity to sonic / line of force (deals a cumulative 6d8 points of damage if hit the same target)/ Lawful Neutral / LA +1

*Note: the titanium's breath weapon deals twice the damage if it hits the same target a second time, three times the damage on the third time, etc., so should be the half-dragon's, while a half-dragon can only use its breath weapon once per day, there are some feats that allows it to use more often; since it gains one more powerful breath weapon, it's worth an additional +1 to LA
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Due to their wild nature, the nexus and void dragons have been left out.

So what do you think ?

Well, Half-Epic dragons really shouldn't be more powerful than other half-dragons. Going by the latest source on Half-Dragons (This time Races of the Dragon) I would recommend:

*Note, the dual resistances were phased out in Races of the Dragon, and replaced with Immunity to one or the other (see Pyroclastic dragon for an example)
Additionally, Dragons with a Force breath weapon were given no immunities.
Desiccation is a fancy way of saying dehydration. According to Sandstorm, desiccation damage is the type of damage dealt by a horrid wilting spell.

Cometary Dragon: Cone of Pulsating Time Energy/Immunity to Cold or Fire (player's choice)/Lawful Neutral
Nexus Dragon: Cone of Destructive Energy (no type)/Immunity to Cold/Neutral
Platinum Dragon: Cone of Cold and Holy energy (half damage of each type)/Immunity to Cold/Lawful Good
Polychromatic Dragon: Line or Cone (Player's Choice) of Acid, Cold, Electricity, or Fire (Player's Choice)/Immunity to Acid, Cold, Electricity, or Fire (Player's Choice)/Lawful Evil
Timber Dragon: Cone of Desiccation/None/Neutral
Titanium Dragon: Line of Force/None/Lawful Neutral
Void Dragon: Cone of Energy Drain (As Half-Shadow Dragon)/Immunity to Cold/Neutral

Hmmm, Half-Timber Dragon Druid? Or even Wood-specialized WuJen??

Heck, better yet, Half-Timber Dragon Druid/WuJen/Arcane Heirophant

And, since we are on the topic:

Dragon Heritage/Descriptor or Subschool/Class Skill/Spells Known
Cometary/Cold/Knowledge (history)/Expeditious Retreat, Haste, Temporal Stasis
Nexus/Cold/Knowledge (planes)/Ethereal Jaunt, Plane Shift, Summon Monster III
Polychromatic/Any one energy type/Concentration/n/a
Timber/Charm/Survival/Changestaff, Entangle, Plant Growth
Titanium/Sonic/Craft (armorsmith)/magic weapon, greater magic weapon, repel metal or stone
Void/Cold/Disable Device/ray of enfeeblement, shatter, disintigrate

Just some suggestions. Note the Platiunum is already on the Races of the Dragon list.

Thanks for the reply.

but what about the additional +1 to LA for the titanium and polychromatic half-dragons ?

I did see it, but like I said, I don't think that half-epic dragons should be any more powerful than half-any other dragon.

Also, I added Nexus and Void dragons to the list. After all, they ARE dragons.

I skipped them because they're a bit hard to approach and to breed with other creatures, but guess it could be possible.

The polychromatic has access to 5 breath weapons, each with a different energy and shape. While the chaos dragon has the ability to use 4 energy types, its breath weapon is randomized, compared the polychromatic dragon's ability to choose, hence the +1 to LA.

The titanium dragon has a breath weapon that increases by 100% each time it's used, assuming it hits the same target. While the half-dragon can use the breath weapon once per day, there are a few ways to increase that limit, such as the Dragon Breath feat. So a titanium half-dragon with that feat can pack quite a punch, hence the +1 to LA.

Oh, I understood the reasoning. First, the Polychromatic dragon doesn't have access to sonic. Second, choosing one breath is at character creation, not during play, so it isn't as great a benefit as it seems.

As for the Titanium dragon, like how the Prismatic Dragon's breath weapon was "toned down" for the half-dragon, so was the Titanium Dragon's.
