Svirfneblin-One hell of a race, quite a balanced race too. Shame about there tricky location, but I'm one hell of a writer.(Plus I can spell there names,).

Forest gnomes-Little elves, it seems, a very nice race, not as powerful as the svirfnebli but still an all-round better package then the Normal gnomes.(Given I would give them +1 ecl)

Gnomes- Far from mundane, yet slightly shadowed by there other kin, still not without there charms. How I will miss there inate spells if I go Foresty.

With those stats, Gnomes are good to be spell casters, especially arcane ones. As a spell caster, almost any race with 1+ ECL are just no good.

So go for a normal Gnome.

Even better. Pick the deep gnome (+4AC look it up) and make him a psychic warrior(with inertial armor) and a monk (with high wisdom) result? max AC of 22 . That's too cool.

I just started a campaign as a forest gnome druid. So far it's been a lot of fun. I'm a little 2' 3" gnome with a nice wolf companion. We did alter the forest gnome to keep it more in line with a +0 ECL. Instead of automatically having elf, sylvan, and speak with animals as free languages as the monster manual seems to suggest we treated them as the bonus languages available to the race. I had to use one of my languages granted by intelligence to take speak with forest animals. We also kept the gnome's pass without trace, I would have recieved that ability as a druid anyway as well as the extra +4 to hide in forest.

What no choice for "Other (please explain)" in your poll. I wanted to pick Garden Gnome, but it wasn't there. Humf! some poll this is.;)

I wanted to pick the Underpants Gnomes.

+4 to pick pocket checks
+2 dex
-2 int
-2 wis
+2 con
Cause Fear to children save Will DC 10

Must constantly sing the "Underpants Gnome Song" while walking around.

Never know the middle step(s) in their plan to take over the world.
