As i see it, WizarDru complied with Eric's challenge first - therefore, he won it.
In fact, I don't see the reason why Tsyr was given equal stake in the results of the contest.

However, I think it might be wise and appropriate to wait until "a couple days after it comes out" (July 20th or 21st) to see if Wizards lives up to WizarDru's published quote.

Barring an official press release from WotC, I'm taking what a designer here, or a designer there, says with a grain of salt. I understand that they get pressured by people who are anxious for exact promises, but I think what they have dropped on this list or that message board to be no more than their best guess based on what they may have generally discussed as part of a team. A few days, or even weeks, isn't go to destroy lives or shake worlds...

No, actually the city of Syracuse will now be destroyed...

I just want to echo sentiments, and not to bash on the designers or anything, but often times they make best-guesses because fans are clamoring for any little bit of information. As Mark said, until WotC puts out a press release (or the SRD) then there's no official date. WotC could (knock-on-wood) put the SRD out in December if they wanted to, and not be breaking any binding promises, because they never made any.
