Anyone know how to make an Elf Rogue and a Dragonborn Warlord?

Fortunately for us the Elf Rogue is easy to make, the only thing it lacks from the Elf and Rogue previews is a 1st level Daily power.

There was a pretty involved (group of) post(s) a few weeks ago where several of the more technically minded reverse-engineers among ENworld did this. You can find 'em if you dig far enough.

Dragonborn Warlord... well if we take all of Kwalish Kid's scoop at face value (most of it makes sense to me at any rate), then we have most of the Dragonborn, and we also have a couple good Warlord 1st-level Daily powers to choose from off of that Design & Development article from a few days back. There was another Warlord class post or two based on that article and the Dwarf Warlord "monster" we have seen... I bet you could Frankenstein-up a 1st level Dragonborn Warlord using all that collected data (and choice selections from the Cleric of DDXP fame, who is probably going to be the most mechanically similar in terms of HP and Healing surges and Defenses and such)

At any rate, If you do go through with all that please post your results! :D

EDIT: Now, what I would REALLY like to see is somebody to stat up a Dragonborn Paladin to replace that cheese-tastic Halfliing Mark-n-Flee-adin. That would be great. Hmmm maybe I should go do that now...

Out of curiosity, Cam, what makes those combos interesting for you?

Fitz

To the OP: I've got an Elf Rogue, but it's not on this computer. If no one posts one for you by Wed, I'll see what I can do.

I like characters slightly or more than slightly off center. I think people are assuming dragonborn warlords and tiefling warlocks to be the norm; I'd rather see Hellboy (aka tiefling paladin). I like the idea of dwarf warlocks and eladrin warlords, because you'd not really go that route intentionally.

My first characters for 3e, back in 2000, were a half-orc druid (Tul of Lut), a human ranger/rogue (Lucy Morningstar, Princess of Thieves), a dwarf bard/barbarian (The Poet Panzerfaust), and a halfling necromancer/monk (Sister Two-Fists Skullbless). I like to mix it up a little. :)

Cheers,
Cam

This is the daily power I used for the elven rogue I made:

Razor Blade
Daily - Standard Action
Dex attack vs Fort
Hit: 2[W] + dex, and ongoing 5 damage per round (save ends)
Miss: Half damage, and no ongoing damage.

Hey nice I like it. :D It seems like just the right amount of power for level one.

OK, I went ahead and helped myself to a "Pre-gen" Dragonborn Paladin in a new thread on this forum. :)
I was gonna post the character here but realized it was off-topic from the OP.

Anyway, to finish my thought about engineering a Dragonborn Warlord I opened up the "Monsters & More" PDF and brought up the Dwarf Warlord (a level 12 Soldier [Leader] "monster") for some power ideas.

[sblock]
Drive into Peril
standard; Recharge 5,6
Weapon +17 vs. AC
1d12+8 and push 3 (no damage and push 1 on a miss)
If enemy ends adjacent to an ally other than you, that ally can make an immediate basic melee attack against it.
(an Encounter Attack?)

Hold the Line
standard; recharge 6
Close burst 5; Allies get +4 AC until end of this creature's next turn.
(Encounter or possibly Daily Utility?)

Rally the Troops
immediate; recharge 4,5,6
Range 5; target ally can use a healing surge
(Healing Word?)

And for those curious, the Dwarf Warlord's Ability modifiers and weapons:
Str +11 Dex +6 Wis +6 Con +8 Int +9 Cha +7
+3 Battleaxe (standard; at-will) • Weapon +17 vs. AC; 1d12+8
+3 Crossbow (standard; at-will) • Weapon Range 15/30; +15 vs. AC; 1d8+3
[/sblock]

Anyway those are some power ideas along with my (blindingly obvious) notes/suggestions about how they might be handled. Obviously these will require a LOT of reverse-engineering to twist into some form of useful 1st-level Powers, and I'm not sure if anyone has even tried yet. Someone of greater patience than I might be able to dig up the Warlord thread awhile back where IIRC somebody(ies) tried to visualize a 1st-level Warlord using this Monster entry as a guide.
