Morrowind meets DnD

That would be awsome. I'm already making a Castle Ravenloft, along with the story that goes with it. Should be pretty kickin' once I'm done.
Hey, let me know when you've finished that. I'd love to get my hands on it and play it through

That would be sooooo cool. I'd settle for a highly illegal free fan-made plugin, though. :D

Its not illegal to make one, it is illegal to sell it though. Distributing it might be a problem too, although if you only give it to your friends, it won't come up. Of course, they can give it to their friends, etc. What you don't want to do is put your name in it anywhere, then you are okay. And don't post it on a public board. Someone might, but don't let that person be you.

There is nothing wrong with making a Ravenloft module for Morrowind, posting on the net and saying: "here is my Morrowind module, inspired by Ravenloft." Just don't call it Ravenloft and you will be fine... heck you might even get away with calling it Ravenloft and no one is likely to sue you for it since you are not making money on it. They might, however, ask you to change the name.

I am curious to see how this works for Neverwinter Nights. Certainly, Forgotten Realms seems to be fair game, since the game is set in FR. But a lot of people are talking Greyhawk, Planescape, Ravenloft, etc. adventures using the editor (which is pretty cool, I must say).

Eh.

NWN does have the advantage of actually being D&D, and having multiplayer, but the Morrowind engine is looking a lot nicer, and the editor a lot friendlier.

From what I heard, the NWN editor is the most friendly of the big three (MW, NWN, DS) with DS being the most powerful (they will be giving access to the DLL's) and MW in the middle.

Also, keep in mind that you have to have a kick ass system for MW not to bring it to its knees, so I'm sure more people would be able to appreciate a NWN or DS game than MW. All the graphical loveliness comes at a cost.
