[Mor's End Discussion] Administration

Krug

Newshound
Ok this is to divide up the thread slightly. It's more for the administration. You shouldn't be discussing too much details of the project here.

Anybody interested in taking up the 'Minister' positions?
Any positions we should determine now?

Next up are the judges for the various contests. Or should we just appoint a Minister who judges them, not unlike what's done in the IronDM thread.

Most of all, remember to have fun while doing all this. :)

Like I've said, the endpoint at this stage is a 3-4 page dossier (or even less) that EN Worlders can tap in to get a feel, so they can contribute the 'cream' and the 'crunch'. We're supplying the house and the theme; they're bringing the dishes and the drinks. :)

Statblocks: Should conform to d20 Standard:

Krug,
I posted this in the other city thread before I saw your admin post.

I really like the Minister angle!!!
We could dole out the Minister position (each taking one and posting rest up for grabs.
Then, like Krug said, each oversee a thread and submit reports to a master Thread.

Minister of: (some suggestions to get things rolling)
Trade
Warfare
Magic
Agriculture (cattle, farming)
Foreign Affairs (alliances, etc.)
Education (university)
Religion
the Arts
Intrigue (need better name but head of CIA just won't cut it
City Affairs
Industry
---
I would add also
Minister of Natural Resources
Minister of Public Health (the plague you know)
Minister of the High Court of Mor's End

I'll take the Minister of Education position if it's up for grabs.
I see a small university that works in conjunction with the Minster of Magic and Warfare that teaches:
local history
politics
archeology (focusing on the underground warrens)
astronomy
alchemy
herbalism
battlefield tactics
stonecutting
masonry
metalsmithing
pottery
It has a faculty representing the best minds in the city, including a dwarven miner/engineer from Kul Moran.
The minister is secretly researching the how to emulate the gem-cutting technique fo the Gem Cutter's Guild, but has had little success of late.

I would be happy to be a judge or minister. I'm not married to any one thing so I'll take whatever is assigned.

Krug, I'd love to be a minister. I'd particularly like to be involved with coordinating the NPCs and shops for the various crafts. But if that idea doesn't fit, or you have something else you need a volunteer for, just call on me. I'm pretty good at coordinating projects in real life, so I'd be happy to lend my experience here.

there are several diffrent ways to name that "agency" but after all what good is a "secret police" if everyone knows about them?

have it be a city run theives guild that uses their abilities as a counter crime department with the backing of the wisards guild and borrowing muscle from the fighters guild in the event of a gang war or somthing like that.

after all who better to secure a site than a theif that knows how to break in.

this will also allow for many really cool pr possibilities as you could have an agent go of the farm and start lootng the city :)

Hey Buttercup cool. Why don't you become the Minister of Trade and Craft for the moment? I think you're doing a great job there.

Lalato: What's your forte? How about being the first judge for NPCs (CR 0-2)?

I'll actually help as a Minister or Judge on any that you assign also.
What were the three Ministers you initially listed again?

Names, Geography and Trade.

Why don't you become the 'Minister of Geography' (yes I know it sounds odd), as in you have final say over the way it's run. It HAS to be a independent city-state of course.

BTW, Ministers, you can of course contribute as well. Just be mindful of all suggestions!

Okey dokey, Krug. Let me do a bit more thinking about Trade & Craft stuff, and I'll start a new thread to gather thoughts/contributions/info in.

Thanks for giving me this opportunity! :)
