Most common house rules?

Ok, folks, I just wanted to find out what some of the more common house rules out there are? We have been playing 3.0, and now 3.5, from the beginning. However, we have not used *any* rules-related house rules whatsoever. We had a book of them for 2E.

That said, we were actually wondering last week if there are any good house rules that we should adopt? So, I wanted to get a feel for things and see what sort of house rules are out there.

Fractional BAB/base save progression seems pretty common. IE, a wizard doesn't have BAB progression of 0/1/1/2/2/3/3/4/4/5..., he gets a +0.5 every level. Rogues and Clerics get a +0.75.
 

It depends on the campaign you play. What are you currently playing? (Forgotten Realms, Midnight, Oathbound, Arcana Unearthed (Diamond Throne)...)
 


Dropping the multiclass restrictions on monks and paladins seems pretty common.

Getting rid of favored class appears to be less common, but still pretty widespread.
 

Alternate versions of the Blasphemy/Holy Word spells is also recurrent. We house-ruled it, but I think that there's a more widespread version than mine, mainly to use the 3.0 version AS WRITTEN.
 

Our House Rules

We have a few House Rules:
- No Multi-class penalties for Monks/Paladins
- Rangers get alternate archery feat progression
- Strength = Strength +2 for the purposes of carrying capacity
- Containers can only hold so much.
- "Hobby Skills" select 3 (non-combat based) skills, recieve max ranks in them, and they stay at max based upon Character Level.
- There are more but I cannot remember them.

We tend to play with mainly the 3 core books - the PHB, the DMG and the MM. I think in 3 or 4 fairly lengthy 3E and 3.5 campaigns, we've had 1 PC take a prestige class and only a few that have multi-classed, and those were for good in-game reasons.

What's the difference? Do you round up (so rogues and clerics would get +1 at first level)? Or is it mostly for multi-classing?
 

Paladin mount stays as it was in 3.0, no more pokemounts... and the weapon sizes rules stay as it used to be in 3.0, this is exactly what we use at the game I DMing, I have not had any problem with anything so far, the characters are still 2nd level, they may well create a lot of problems in the future... don't they? ;)
