Most Unusual Fantasy Cities

Sigil, City of Doors.

cmrscorpio got that one right as being among the most unusual fantasy city. It manages to escape nearly every standard fantasy trope you can name. There are a few others that come to mind as being unusual, but they do not approach the strangeness of Sigil.

Sharn, Eberron setting.
Essentially a city of massive sky scrapers in a renessance setting with a great deal of magi-tek type elements.

Menzoberrannzan, Forgotten Realms setting
Massive dark elf city consisting of many warring families. Not so exotic to longtime Forgotten Realms fans, but it did manage to create a large number of the archtypes used for that kind of city.

Shelzar is going to make an appearance soon in my game. I wouldn't call it "most unusual" but for what I want (decadent city of traders between the ocean and a large desert) it will work.
