MotP: Timeless pocket dimension

Ok... Guess I fumbled. My players are in a small privat pocket dimension of a deceased archmage... And I made the domain (a small tropical island) timeless.

Now some questions regarding the "life" on such a plane:
- Fast Healing (Slaads) should not work since it's like natural healing, right?
- Since time is not changing, there's no "day", ergo no new spell preparation and no new spells for divine spellcasters, right? If this does not work, how should the plane be to made this impossible without killing magic totally?
- People caught there should not age and have problems to "know what time it is" or how long they've been there, right?
- What about sleeping and eating?

Any more ideas about unexpected side effects?

Fast Healing: right, its nixed. Regeneration is too (although it should still convert damage to subdual, it just won't heal it).

Spell preps: can still occur

knowignt he time: yep, it'd be prety hard :)

sleeping and eating: aren't necessary, but come back full force when you leave.

Check the Astral Plane section and mirror it after that.

Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread, Darklone, but what spells or procedures were used to create the pocket dimension?

That would be really nifty thing to have. Our party is nearing 15th level, and we're jumping planes and crystal spheres. To have a permanent extradimensional retreat where we could store stuff, like a lab for example, would be very useful.

Magnificient Mansion is non-permanent (can't store stuff), so is there something out there to create a permanent pocket dimension, or find one? (Occupied or non ;) )

Hmm, I need to stop the spell preparations :D

Argh, looks like a case for Rule Zero.

Sleeping, aging and eating: Ah, right, I remember that part in the book... Boah that's evil. Most of the dudes who are stuck there will turn to dust when the players manage to take them out there. Well. That's better for the PCs than what would have happened with the imbedded slaad eggs in all those guys. :D

Andargor: I'm sorry... That archmage had nearly epic stuff, good relations to some gods and was working on that island for more than 100 years, I didn't care too much HOW he did it... Since I'm not really a high level DM, I put together some stylish stuff and now I'm trying to rebuild it by the rules... ;)

It is more a demiplane though, not a real pocket dimension since the entrance is not really fixed to a bag or something... Which does not mean the players couldn't take it along...

If you want a permanent Magnificient Mansion, check out Seps storyhour, Mostin researched that spell... DM approval, I guess.

If my memory serves me correctly...I'm at the ole work place writing code...There is a spell in Defenders of the Faith and/or Manual of the Planes called Genesis that allows one to create and/or extend a demiplane. 9th Level I do believe with XP cost for each casting that gives like 100ft/level increase in the planes radius.

I could be off on the specifics or location but I do recall it in a WOTC book, but not the ELH.

That should get you the demiplane or pocket dimension.

Genesis, a spell from MotP can create a pocket dimension.

Eating: the Astral description states that you won't die from lack of food, you'll just be reaally hungry.

Spell Prep: This should still be allowed, unless of course you want to hamstring the spellcasters in the part for an adventure, in which case go for it! :D

Argh, I'm a wizard, and Genesis is a Creation domain spell. :(

It's in DotF, BTW.

I can't find anything in the ELH, either. *sigh* house rule time...

Well, depending on his disposition, I could ask the DM for an effect that is greater than what is normally granted by Wish and try to duplicate Genesis.

If it makes sense in the plot line, I am reasonably sure he would allow it. I would perhaps have to expend more XP, however. We'll see when I get there...
