Are there many PCs who use this? I see the problems of dungeons, forests, and buildings being too much of a hastle. I have only seen 1 PC take this rout, and he rarely uses it. What do the members of the community think?

Wow - 100% agree with me!!

Of course, that's with only one response :).

I think that mounted combat for medium-sized characters works only is very specific campaigns.

For small-sized characters, though, it's a blast!!

I DM a player who has a halfling paladin riding a war dog. Most of the combat, so far, has been outside, where there's plenty of room for his Ride-by Attack. The PC contributes substantially to the party's successes.

And yet, the PC doesn't dominate. So far, at least.

I'm not sure how "useful" the set-up will be in dungeons.

BTW, we changed the Ride-by Attack feat, to allow the character to "ride-by". Dumb feat, otherwise.
