Mounted Robbery?

It seems to me the trickiest part would be leaning down far enough from the saddle to reach pocketed/belted items on a pedestrian. Maybe have the character use a special hooked pole or something similar.

No, if you have stirrups you can lean over the side of your mount while riding. I just do not know how to set the DC and modifiers..

Well, the SRD gives a bunch of example DCs for Riding maneuvers. I'd set it somewhere between using the mount for cover and controlling the mount in battle, i.e. at 15 to 20 (since it's supposed to happen at full gallop probably closer to 20). I was also thinking of using the Disarm rules to actually grab the item (assuming it's something on the rider's person).

This is my start:
Mounted Raider: While mounted and charging you can use the pickpocket skill to snatch an object held or worn by your target. If you make a successful Ride check you avoid an attack of opportunity by the target.

Let us try this:
Mounted Raider: You can make a disarm attempt while mounted and charging to snatch an item held or worn by an unmounted opponent. You add your class level to the attempt and gain double your Strength bonus (if any). If you make a successful Pick Pocket check, you get away before the target can attempt an attack of opportunity.

Too much? Good?
