Mounts and Divine Feats.

Lord Pendragon

First Post
I seem to remember a thread, in which it was asserted that a paladin could share the effects of Divine Might with his mount. But alas, I don't have the search function, and have completely forgotten the rationale behind the assertion.

Does anyone remember what I'm talking about? I think it had to do with Share Spells and the FAQ...

[edit] Found it in the 3.0 FAQ under familiars.
3.0 FAQ said:
Can masters who possess spell-like or supernatural abilities share those abilities with their familiars (or paladins' mounts)? Can the master share any spell she receives? Or just spells she casts.

Master and familiar (or paladin's mount) can share only spells the master casts on herself. (That is, the master must cast the spell and select herself as the target.) Spell-like or supernatural abilities can be shared, provided the master is using the ability and targets herself.
Since using a Divine feat is considered a supernatural ability, the paladin could, in 3.0 by this ruling, share Divine Might with his mount.

Is this still valid for 3.5, or has it be re-clarified elsewhere? I didn't see anything about it in the 3.5 FAQ.

It's from the horrid, horrid Tome and Blood Share Spell rules. And I'm guessing that since Skip was one of the T&B authors, and answers a lot of FAQ questions, he put it in there as well.

Yup - as far as I know, I'm the one who first pointed that out :)

Note that the text of Share Spell in the 3.5 PHB specifically excludes Spell-Like Abilities, which means that the T&B rules are no longer relevant. And thus the Su rule no longer pertains either, since 3.5 says nothing about sharing Su abilities being allowed... only spells.
