Movement in a round

First Post
This situation came up last friday, and I wasnt sure how to deal with it.

Say Character A (Spd: 30') is 90' away (in a straight line, no obstacles) from Monster Z. Could A go right up to Z by running? could he stop 10' before (so he wouldn't arrive in Z's threaten space and incur an AoO)? Basically, when you run, do you have to move your total running speed?

What say you, wise men (and women... but there aren't many women hagning (sp?) in the Rules forum i believe) of Enworld?

Maitre D.

Edit. uh, stupid me. its all there on page 129 of the PHB. This post can be deleted...

Unless Z has reach, why would running up to the square next to him provoke an AoO?

The Run action provokes AoO. IIRC, if you Run, you'll take an AoO from everyone who threatens you, even in your starting and ending squares.
