Movies that make you want to game...

Dragonslayer, Dragonheart, and Merlin all give me the itch to play every time I watch them. Especially Merlin.

The cartoons from my youth, of course, The Hobbit cartoon, Flight of Dragons, The Last Unicorn. Labyrinth. Gummy Bears, also, strangely enough.

Lord of the Rings will do it every time, as well. And I can't watch Pirates of the Caribbean without wanting to get the dice out either.

"King Arthur" with Clive Owen and crew always makes me want to game.
"13th Warrior"
"Serenity"/"Firefly"
"The Bourne Identity"
"The Brothers Grimm"
"Highlander 3"
"Kingdom of Heaven"
"Rob Roy"
"Braveheart"
"Pathfinder"
"Stargate" the movie, not the abomination of a TV series.

Julie and Julia, The Holiday, Sex and the City...

Pretty much any one of numerous interminable chick flicks where I spend the whole time thinking how much more I'd rather be gaming, or, barring that, driving nails with my forehead.

WOLVERINES!!! WOLVERINES!!!

Sorry - couldn't resist. Back to topic...

I see that, and raise you a...

"Boys, avenge me! AVENGE ME!!!"

back to topic...

"Seven Samurai" and "The Magnificent Seven" are occasionally shown on TCM, and those get me in the mood to play more than just about anything.

...Sex and the City...
Sex in the City just makes me want to drink really strong girl drinks and take up smoking again. And now, back to the topic...

I'd like to add John Boorman's Excalibur. It always puts me in mind to game, primarily so I can play a character with Nicol Williamson's batty accent.

And a recent film, Neil Marshall's Doomsday. I dare you to watch that and not want to game (in any one of three or four different genres).

Ah! Matt! I knew you had an ENWorld Account, but I forgot your screen name!

Saw the Calgary Address and thought something completely different. I'm embarrassed, now. :p

How ya been?

Yeah just moved to Calgary for a few years, started up a 4e game of War of the Burning Sky with some friends and really enjoying getting back into DMing after a year or so break from gaming. Been good, how's things in Vic?

Cheers,
E

Blood of Heroes - C'mon, it's a post-apocolyptic sports movie.
Tremors
The Frighteners
Slayers - It's an anime series. I describe it as "Lodoss Wars is the campaign you want to play. Slayers is what actually happens at your table."
The Dark Crystal
Big Trouble in Little China
Princess Mononoke
Ghostbusters
Galaxy Quest

Movies have to be the LOTR Triolgy mainly

But as said previously video games such as Fallout and Oblivion really spark things up.
But one thing i dont see in movies which is a bit of a craze for me right now is a dward with his main weapon as a spear(thats one thing you dont see in the movies;))

Regards
