What would you allow to move the area of effect of a spell?

Would a limited wish or wish be the only options? This could be a cool (if special case) thing to pull off. Blade barrier is a huge favorite of many. What would it take to move that blade barrier right back into the heroes?

PC has an advance copy of 3.5, doesn't he?

If so, it's a random hit. First a disclaimer: I'm not a 3.5 playtester. While I think it would be cool if the NPC in Piratecat's game moved the spell, it was just a random thought I came up with.
