A +2 Shield doesn't give you the +1 attack bonus to shield bashes, but a +2 MW Shield would.</p><p></p><p>We do this to make low-level items a bit more varied and rewarding, while letting enemies resistant to 'normal weapons' remain challenging for a bit longer. Our first magic piece of weapon/armor found was at level 5 I think. We're level 6 now and we've got 3 party members with magic weapons, mine being a Longsword of Vengeance +1 (cursed item that gives you disadvantage when wielding any other weapons, and makes you go beserk when you take damage if you fail a DC 15 Wisdom save).</p></blockquote><p></p>
