If an urban campaign - an honorable vigilante using a rogue -fighter combo, who lives to bring justice to the criminal class.

If a classic dungeon crawl, a tough as nails dwarven wizard who is seeking to learn the secrets of magic to craft the mightiest ax the world has ever seen - his masterwork ax is his bonded weapon

If a wilderness campaign, an explorer looking for the perfect spot to build his castle... when he amasses enough wealth to do so.

Too many variables, need more input.

(I used to have a pretty extensive list of questions for DMs I didn't know who were running 3e.)

1) Are you allowed to use any classes besides the Basic classes?
2a) Are you allowed to use any character creation rules besides the Core rules?
2b) Any limitations on race selection?
3) How many players?
4) is the campaign homebrew, pre-gen, or both?
5) Does it start at level 1?
6) Do you like spellcasters?
7) Do any other players prefer the skill-monkey or caster role?

And I'm just getting warmed up. :3
