Multi-classed Master Specialist entry point? (Complete Mage)

I'm making an "archetypal gnome" for the Savage Tide campaign, and starting off thusly:

1: Gnome illusionist 1 (Spell Focus: Illusion as my feat)
2: Bard 1
3: Gnome Paragon 1
4: Gnome Paragon 2
5: Gnome Paragon 3

Now, at level 6, I'd like to pick up the first level of Master Specialist from Complete Mage. I will apparently meet the requirements: Specialist (Illusionist), Spell Focus and able to cast second level arcane spells ... but those are bard spells.

This is undoubtedly a little bit cheesy (although if they didn't want it to happen, the entry requirements could have been easily written to require 2nd level spells of the specialist wizard class), but is it legal?

I see nothing cheesy about it. What would be cheesy would be using Gnome Illu 1 and Precocious Apprentice to qualify. (Legal in the interpretations of many; illegal in the interpretations of many others.)
