Multiattack

I'm sure this has been done and re-done... but my Thri-Kreen is holding a shortsword. He has the multiattack feat. He attacks with his shortsword, then attacks with his natural attacks, three claws and one bite.

+4 sword, +2 claws, +2 bite?

Or would it be +4 sword, +2 claws, -1 bite?

I.e., does the multiattack feat affect all natural weapons? The description seems to imply (yikes) that it improves a +4 four claws, -1 bite attack routine to a +4 four claws, +2 bite routine. It gives no mention of combination with regular strikes.

Am I reading too deeply into this? Should it just reduce the penalty of secondary attacks that are natural attacks to -2? Or what? Thanks!

Hi!

If I interpret the description of the feat correctly, it smoothes the penalty of every attack of a secondary natural weapon to -2.

It does not affect attacks (or iterative attacks) with manufactured weapons.

It does, however, affect a combination of attacks with manufactured and natural attacks, but only the natural secondary attacks.

If you have a critter with i.e. 2 claws (as first natural attack) at +6 and 1 bite (as secondary natural attack) at +1 you smooth the penalty of the bite from -5 to -2 and therefore you get 2 claws at +6 and 1 bite at +4.

If that critter grabs a weapon and hits with it at i.e. +8 and subsequently bites with the multiattack feat, it still bites at +4.

Hope that helps.

See the TROLL HUNTER in the MM for more number crunching.

Kind regards
