Multiclass and Exclusive Skills

Ok, I take a level in ranger and put a few points into the exclusive skills I get with the class.

Now I take levels in rogue.

Maybe my mind is just fried on Friday but I cannot remember the rule.

Can I use my rogue skill points to increase my ranger skills that are exclusive skills as cross class skills? Or can I not raise them at all unless I take more levels in ranger?

No, you cannot use rogue SPs to increase ranger only skills. The same applies for Cross Class Skills. If you are MC and you have a Rogue/Wiz. If you gain a level of Wiz and want to add to spot, you have to spend 2 points per rank.

Seems a bit off to me, but them's the rules.

Also, Maximum Rank is calculated more harshly for Exclusive Skills.

For example, you could put 4 ranks in Wilderness Lore as a Ranger, gain three Rogue levels, and then another ranger level, putting another 4 points into Wilderness Lore. (Max rank = CL +3 = 8)

But if you picked up 4 ranks of Animal Empathy, then when you gained your second ranger level at 5th, you could only add one more rank of AE. (Max rank = Ranger level +3 = 5)
