Multiclass Combos

I'm really looking forward to the release of 4E. And with the information that has been released, I have already started to think of some character concepts. One of those, is a multiclass human Fighter/Warlord. I just think it would be a neat combo...the tactical mercenary soldier with sword and board.

What are some other class combos that you are looking to try out?

Without having seen too many powers, it's hard to evaluate. I think a rogue/wizard will be at least as popular as ever, especially if you can pick up spells that grant combat advantage. Warlock/paladin looks fun as an annoyer (I challenge you, but I'm invisible, and you're afraid of me, and I'm flying!). For RPGA, I'm planning on building a tiefling paladin/wizard and an elf cleric/ranger so I can cover all 4 roles.

I'm still unsure what's the best way to represent a big sword/light armour guy. Because I ran into a brick wall in Devil May Cry 4 on the weekend, and now I want to roll up Nero in D&D and kick DMC4's butt by proxy.

Also needs a taunt mechanic.

Fighters effectively have a taunt built in, and I bet other classes have something similar (warlords, rogues, warlocks?)

Based on what we have so far, if I wanted to make a DMC clone (I know Dante but not Nero, though I gather they're similar) I'd build a tiefling fighter with Wizard training. Wizard rather than warlock because with an 18 Int you can get away with having light armor. Alternate options are warlord/wizard or warlord/warlock. Eladrin might work well as a race--less DMC-esque, but Fey Step and Eladrin Weapon Training would work nicely.

I can't speak for myself as I DM, but I have a player with an interesting halfling swordsage/warlock now. When we convert to 4E I imagine he'll play warlock with warlord training. Both seem to have charisma as a useful stat so I'm looking forward to what he comes up with.

His original concept was that he is this tattooed halfling with a dubious past, he hears voices talk to him and is a bit crazy. He studied the sublime way to learn discipline to quiet the voices in his mind, but as he gains experience he's finding he likes eldritch power.

Another one of my players is a bit problematic; I'm not sure what the best way to handle a halfling shadowmage would be. I guess wizard with warlock training or warlock with wizard training would be alright.

At this point I'm intrigued by any combo that includes warlord and/or warlock.

I am more looking at it from the perspective of character concept, so I dunno how well it will synch, but:

Warlock/Ranger: A Urban Ranger who uses his connections with the Star Pact to spy on and hunt down those he target.

Sorcerer/Barbarian: I know it is a ways off, but I can just imagine a Barbarian raging and during the rage the barely controllable magic of the Sorcerer blasting out.

I still say that within-role combos are fairly sweet, by making you even more effective.

The rogue or warlock who goes with Ranger, for Hunter's Quarry; tack it onto a cursed target, or to someone you have combat advantage over, and mm, tasty buckets of damage. Not to mention the ranged powers can no doubt help out both classes.

The fighter who takes the paladin's Challenge, as well. Mmm.

A TWF rogue/ranger can't be that bad either.

I'm thinking about trying an eladrin ranger with wizard training, and choosing the battle mage paragon path. The Dex-based opportunity attack seems perfect for a bow-using ranger, considering he would normally lack a melee OA. Second (and hopefully improved) coming of the arcane archer perhaps? Hopefully the enc and daily powers are good.
