Ashtal's always been painfully non-confrontational.

And now that she's a moderator? Forget about it.

You'd get a better fight from Ghandi.

Re: Realistic?

To me, an example of a realistic roleplayer is one who's character inherited his father's nonmagical sword and feels it is his duty to use it in battle. He cherishes it, calls it by its name...but it's just a normal sword. Then one day he comes across a magical sword in a treasure trove. The character takes the magical sword, but it does not replace his father's sword as his primary weapon. Rather, he saves it for emergencies where he might need it (vs damage reduction creatures)... or he might sell it.... The point is he's doing something the character would do, not the player. Perhaps a good idea would be to commission a mage to enchant father's sword...

Ummm...have you been looking at my character sheets or something? I made up a 1st level fighter whose lost his father during a midnight raid upon his home - and the only possession my character could flee with was his father's greatsword named Blacksong. I wrote up a history for the (non-magical) blade and the DM was impressed enough to declare that it was actually a masterwork weapon (so one day I could have it enchanted). Unfortunately the campaign ended after only 6 sessions but I still have the character. Would love to play him again. :(

(should have checked this thread earlier ... )

Non-confrontational my Dragon-hided Moderator Ass.

You can discuss things; knock your little socks off. But don't start calling people stupid, or the things they enjoy which are ENTIRELY a matter of personal preference, stupid, while I expressly tell you not to.

That's the whole freakin' point of this thread - people like you deciding to sit from on high and delare other people's fun stupid.

When I tell you stop, you stop. But thank you for taking it into an ugly little direction.

Please direct complaints/flames to my mailbox.

Thread closed.
