mundane belt idea

I am sure I'm not the first person to have thought of this and I am sure I won't be the last, but here's an idea I had for a sort of belt that would make sense in a world where you are constantly fighting for your life and need everything at your fingertips. It uses the new "swift action" game mechanic. Plus, being non-magical, it gives a reason to put points into the rarely-used craft skill. Comments welcome (especially on the 2-item limit, price, and "things tend to fall out" areas).

Quick Belt
This item is designed for quick access to emergency items during combat. It takes 2 rounds to put on or take off, and 1 full round to "load" the belt with a single item. However, once loaded, an item may be drawn for use as a swift action. Only small items such as potions, scrolls, wands, or daggers can be loaded into the belt's carefully woven loops and strings. Items loaded this way may also be snatched from the wearer with a successful disarm attempt (see disarming; the disarmer receives a +4 bonus on the attempt) or with a successful sleight of hand check (DC 20; see sleight of hand). A maximum of two items may be held on the belt. When not in combat, the belt may be worn but items loaded in the belt tend to break or fall out if the belt is worn while traveling or over extensive periods of time.
This item is not magical and requires a DC 25 leatherworking craft check to create. Price: 1000g

For 1000 gold, I would probably let characters keep things in it for extended periods of time (as long as they don't keep it overnight or anything like that). Also, since PC-crafted items cost 1/3 the normal price, I might make it 900 gp for easier divisibility.

1000 gp for a non-magically item of this nature just seems wrong, but maybe it is because I'm imagining gnomes involved.

For 1000 gold you can buy 28 wagons. Thats pretty much a whole caravan. But, because of the rare nature of the item I might go with 100-600 gold depending on area, availability, and similar factors.

Well, the price was basically trying to take into account the usefulness of this item, as compared to comperable magic items. Having two items you can "swift" grab and then use seemed pretty big, especially when there's a magic item that allows you to grab a single item with a free action that costs 10,000g (glove of storing). Granted, it does a little more, but it still seemed similar.

Having 28 wagons still won't put the potion in your hand and allow you to move and use it in the same turn. :)
