Muppets' Wizard of Oz this Friday

I didn't see the Muppets Christmas one. Unless you mean the recent Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol which was decent. Or the much older Christmas special with all muppets (including Fraggles and Sesame Street) and a guest appearance by Jim Henson himself.

My personal favorite is Muppet Treasure Island. Muppets in Space was decent, if a little strange (since it focuses on Gonzo's origins).

I'm assuming Fozzie is the cowardly lion? Miss Piggy I assume is Dorthy? Who would the Wizard of Oz be or the flying monkeys?

*update: I remember that episode now. The Muppet Theatre was going to be shut down and Kermit had to have a visit from angel (ala It's a Wonderful Life). That was okay, a nice break from all the other holiday movies repeated 10 thousand times (even my beloved Christmas Story is not as special the 200th time)

No, it was 2003 I think. It was like a "Its a Wonderful Life" and it was really really bad. Muppet Christmas Carol I think was really good, true to the Muppets and true to Dickens.

I still laugh, but in the Muppet Christmas Carol, when Beaker and Honeydew are soliciting for the poor with scrooge, and are turned away, Beaker FLIPS OFF scrooge.
I almost dropped my popcorn!
That was enough to make me love that movie, no matter how bad it might be.

fozzy is the cowardly lion but piggy isnt dorothy... c'mon do you really think piggy would wear the country-bumpkin outfit?

kermit is the scarecrow
and gonzo is the tin-thing.
and pepe the prawn is toto.

ashanti is dortothy. yes, ashanti. and queen latifah is auntie em.

and piggy is the wicked witch.

"jack not name, jack job" -sweetums, muppet movie

I, myself, am a fan of Jeffrey Tambor (here as the Wizard of Oz), ever since I started watching "Arrested Development," and found out that he was the dad from "Heavyweights."

I flipped between the movie and "Robin Hood: Men in Tights," which was on at the same time.

the King Prawn stole the show. He had allt he best lines and made a few comments I was not expecting from a Muppet. It was a good show, not great by any means. But it had its moments.
