Murder, Most Foul - and a town full of suspects...

Where did the Plot forum go?

Anyway, why would you kill someone in a small town? Say, a cleric and a sheriff?

I'm setting up a murder mystery for something different; and I'm going through this small town, naming the residents, giving their professions, and thinking of reasons they may want to kill a young male priest and/or a young female sheriff.

There's jealousy, money, anger, passion/lust...I've got several motives down already, I figure I'd fish for things I've missed.

I'm trying not to give out any details here; I know at least 3 people in the game know this handle as me, and I'm not sure how much they frequent the boards.

As general background, two things - priests (monotheistic campaign) may court and marry, so that keeps a crime of passion open for him, and this is a town of about 60 or so, the 'town' for the outlying farming community of another 80 or so, where trade happens.

Thanks!
