Ditto for FFE's Monstrous Undead Compendium (not sure on the title).

Huh?

Almost none of the monsters in the book have any resemblance to SRD monsters (in fact, they're almost all from 1E and 2E Ravenloft sources).

If you're trying to bash their rules knowledge, you're bashing the Kargatane, not WW. And even so, I don't think there's any truly egregious problems in either versions of the book, unless you're John Cooper and bugged by monster skill points being a few points off. (Which, yeah, would be nice if it wasn't the case, but it's not a factor 99.9 percent of the time.)

OK, the Kargatane then. By skim the SRD, I meant how much effort they put into learing the 3.5 rules mechanics, not whether the copied over SRD monsters.

And in additon to Skill Points there are other little things that are never a factor; like Feats, Hit Point totals, Armor Class (you know stuff that only comes up in almost every combat).

Once you break it down, Denizens of Darkness REALLY, REALLY needed to go through the editing process one more time. It looks like I paid 40 bucks for a rough draft thinking I bought the final copy. When I buy something I expect it to be done right (or at least good enough I won't notice it on every other page).

Oh, yeah, despite having DOZENS of obvious rules/editing errors, I could find NO OFFICAL Errata file. If you screw it up & come out later with an apology & make it work, I'll forgive you. No errata file, no nicey-nice from me.

So, if you pay for DoD, you are giving White Wolf money for not doing their job properly. Now, if you get it for 35% off, that's about right.

PS, I have the orginal Monster loose Leaf sheets, as well as Compendiums 1&2 & Compendium 3. I've been a die-hard Ravenloft buyer since the 1st Box Set came out. I bought the Special Edition 3.0 hardcover when it came out. I even bought the first 3-4 supplements. Then I realized that the quality wasn't what I expected, so I stopped. Simple as that. I have all the fluff I could ever use for RL, what I needed was crunch, their crunch wasn't very good.

Two more,

Deities and Demigods, big book of unique epic outsiders, 3.0 and no CRs listed although you get stats down to the last skill point otherwise.

Divine and Defeated, same theme, but has CRs and some merely high CR unique servant minions as well.
