Mutants in the Now is showing off what's Next!
The retro-modern, mutant-animal, role-playing game renewed the world of anthropomorphic martial animals by using consistent, convenient rules without sacrificing the weird and unexpected elements of mutant animal role-playing long past. It's a one-stop shop for bringing animal action into contemporary role-playing. Now funded and fulfilled on Kickstarter, Mutants in the Next is the essential companion to Mutants in the Now, taking it beyond a mere "spiritual successor" and expanding mutation well beyond the vision of past, popular mutant animal games!

Mutants in the Next adds human-born mutants, "wild" mutations that awaken animal adaptations both modern and prehistoric, expands the game to over 250 species, unleashes psionic powers embodying the strangeness of the Astral or the power of memes, features fighting styles from around the world (and some other worlds), reveals new villains like a time-traveling fennec fox or the terrifying Doom Toons, and so much more! With art by Sophie Campbell (Shadoweyes, Jem and the Holograms, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Fábio Fontes (Buck Up and Drive!, Millennium Blades, Pixel Tactics), Darren M.A. Calvert (Mutants & Masterminds, Acquisitions Inc.), and has contributions by Crystal Fraiser (Cheer Up!, Pathfinder, Mutants & Masterminds) and Ewen Cluney (Magical Fury, Kamegami High, Golden Sky Stories)!

It's the perfect modern companion to classic games involving some combination of ninjas, turtles, and teenagers. That was then. This is Now.

Both Mutants in the Now and Mutants in the Next are currently available! Take a look via the j/k! Games website, buy digitally on DriveThruRPG or, or pick up physical tomes via the j/k! Games store! Follow the author on social media! Join the j/k! Games discord!

It's the Next Mutation.
