My campaign ideas.

Moriveth

First Post
Heh, the people who are gonna play this campaign don't post on this, so I'm safe.

Anyway, my idea for a campaign is this:

The first scenario involves a small group of Nazi cultists who break into an archaeological records office, to look for 'something'. They have taken hostages, and the PCs (a special forces team) are sent in to subdue the Nazis, rescue the hostages, and find out the motive for the attack.

Once the PCs subdue/kill the Nazis and rescue the hostages, they are free to investigate the scene for possible reasons. If (when) they search the body of the cell leader (the Tough3 guy I posted earlier, I may raise his CR or may not even kill him, he may escape and become a recurring villan) or the body of one of the cultists, they discover a small bible-size book that appears to be the cultist's religious manual - filled with white-race propaganda, essays on nazism, ect. Though this isn't strange for the standard white supremacist, there's a slip of paper in the back of the books that details the 'ultimate plan' of the Aryan Brotherhood. When translated from german into english, it is discovered to be some bizarre plot to ressurect Hitler. The reason the cultists were at the records office was because three artifacts are needed to ressurect the infamous nazi leader, and they were looking for the locations (they were unsuccesful).

After some research on the authors of the book, the players discover that one of the authors is still alive, although invalid (and a supposed 'repentant' Nazi, which is why he is still alive), and living in a small island off the coast of Florida.

The next adventure consists of the players journey to the house of the leader, whose name I haven't designed yet.

Well, whaddaya think? Good, bad, cheesy? If you're thinking this would be better suited for a CoC campaign, especially a Delta Green one, I know how much it sounds like one, but I'd rather have this one as a sort of pulp-action storyline, and not have to bother with all that silly sanity.

Additions, suggestions, and revisions, are more than welcome.

I think it sounds pretty good. It obvoiusly needs mpre developement. Why do the first set of Nazi's take hostages? Is it because they are unexpectedly caught by the police or security guards or a security system?

Also, what are the three objects? You could always go ancient judeo-chrisrtian religious artificats - Holy Grail, Ark of the Covenant, Staff of Solomon, Sword of Goliath, Shroud of Turin, etc...

Good set up. I've been working on story lines for awhile now. Everything I come up with lately is fantasy based (ie, dungeun crawl, tomb, evil lich, etc.) I haven't played a modern setting in Oh so long...
The use of Nazis is classic. You may want to make them more up to date than calling them "Nazis." Neo-Nazi or SkinHead is a way to go or my personal favorite (if you've seen the Big Lebowski) The Nihilists.

Nah, wouldn't be fitting for such an evil person. Unless the point would be to destroy them during the resurrection. The Necronomican is very CoC. You could go with the Egytian Book of the Dead from the Mummy. Or personal belongs of Hitler that were confiscated after his death. Like a locket with a picture of his mother or one true love or something. Maybe the skull of the man that killed him. Or did he commit suicide? Maybe the skull of the man that witnessed his death... or just any skull. Skulls rule. Anywho. Good idea.

A couple of points that you might want to think about.
1) why are special forces helping rescue the hostages?
You might have this as back story for another group. Example
this information was recovered form the hostage stand off last night at the Museum. We want you to go talk to this guy and see what's up...Maybe that is were they fight the the Nazi's, Neo-Nazi's, Uber Krauts...
2) What are these atrifacts and why do they need them to reserect Hitler?
The Nazi's searched for the Arch,Staff of Loginous (sp?), Hoily grail, for Proof of their Divine calling. They wanted to prove to the world that Germany was a race of higher and perfect beings etc. I remember hearing that they even thought they were desdents of the Atlantians. That's some crazy stuff.

You could pull a page from a current newpaper for insperation here. They need viable DNA for a clone. You could have the climactic battle scene take place in some high tech lab somewhere where the cloning is going/has taken place. you could even say that they have technology that could produce a fullgrown clone in months/days/weeks. It's fantasy so you can do what you want. This could even be a chance to intro a main villian. he gets cloned an escapes to plan his revendge another day. You could fool the group by haveing multiple clones at the lab that they can kill. Throw in some "Super Krauts" and your on your way.

Just a thought...or two.

Ah yes, I will have to develop the idea of why the neo-nazis are taking over the place... I'll prolly have the artifacts be some random occult artifacts, maybe holy things.

In addition, I'm making this 'stupid cinematic', IE, a lot of the stuff that goes on in it defies logic.

I may post these rules later... depends on whether or not I develop this more.

More ideas on the cloning theme:

I seem to remember hearing that the soviets buried Hitler's remains at a secret location. Think of the possibilities of the PCs trying to stop a break in at the Kremlin as the nazis look for records of where the body lies. Or the first thing the players learn of it could be when they get caught in the middle of a fight between the nazis and a russian special forces team who are investigating the theft.

With Hitler's DNA recovered the nazis then proceed to clone an army of Super Combat Hitlers.........with Cybernetic Uber-Weapons. Now they only require the components for their ritual to unite Hitler's soul (driven mad(der) by 60 years in hell) with their special Leader Super Combat Hitler body.

Wow, this gets madder all the time - I think I've found the plot for my next game :D

An army of cybernetic robot hitlers... sweet...

I might as well post my 'stupid cinematic' rule:

- Spend 5 AP to heal all damage (flesh wound rule)

Cinematic rule.

- Spend 5 AP to heal all damage (flesh wound rule)

Depends on the level. APs are super scarce. 5 AP is really high. Maybe if you did something like:

After a hit is confirmed and before damage is roled spend 2 APs to automatically make the damage 1.

Or something like that. Toy with it and tell me what you think.
