My mind is stuck!

I'm trying to think up cool new sorcerer type (blood related) powers.... not house rules but what would be a cool thing for caster with magic in their veins to do.

Any ideas to help kick start this broken pile of wits of mine?

How about this. Sorcerers know Prestidigitation over and above the 0 level spells known in the PH. Thus they can always perform minor magics if they have slots open.

I always liked the idea of casters who draw their power from geometric shapes. This would be kind of like rune-casting, but could be a simple as tracing geometric shapes in air/dirt/water/etc.

Arcane Shapes... what would you do wit this? It's a cool idea but I'm not sure where to go with it.

Well beyond the usual monster types, you could have them be like planewalkers. They aren't QUITE outsidered but they are infused with a particular plane, and thus their magic tends to have a basis in that. Example, a sorcerer who has blood ties to Hell would favor fire and lawful types of spells. So like a dragon, he could gain a divine spell to cast as an arcane spell, but ONLY from say Law and/or Evil. Or a Shadow sorcerer, cast only stuff with the Shadow descriptor.

Also they only can summon types native to their planes with summoning spells, if they pick one. And they tend to be able to sponatously cast plane walking type spells or spells related to their plane.
