My PHB2 shrivelled like cooked bacon

It should solve itself as others have pointed out.

FYI These were printed about 2 months ago in the mid west (where tonight it is 49F and 69% humidity) then spent a few weeks in Dallas (where tonight it is 61F and 78% humidity) and the possibly another week or so in another west coast distributor and on various trucks and DCs so they seen some fairly diverse climates. Paper is a such a porous substrate that it reacts pretty quickly to humidity so it can get this waviness pretty quickly

Here's a thought: how about putting a disclaimer to this effect on the WotC site? People might not be aware of this problem, especially when shipping books cross-country. Letting the consumers know that this is somewhat normal and usually will correct itself should keep too many people from feeling they got burned on buying these books or something.

Your humidity detector is broken. San Diego is often humid, and right this moment it is 48% humidity.

48 isn't that high. Are you sure about San Diego being humid. I used to live there and I remember it being very dry (though I never did bother to check the humidity level). Then I moved to Mass and our summers humid like you never feel in Southern california.
