I rather dislike the fact that the Hunter of the Dead in DoF requires that you take levels in cleric or paladin, and that its basicaly a militant class. So, I created two undead hunter prestige classes of my own, one for melee types, and one for spellcasters. This is the spellcasting one. The spell list needs work, but this will give you the gist.
Bane of Undead
Requirements:
Skills: Knowledge (Religion) 10 ranks, Spellcraft 10 ranks
Base Will Save bonus: +5
Spells: Ability to cast 4th level spells.
Special: the Bane of Undead must have lost a level or ability score point to the draining powers of an undead creature, and must have single handedly defeated an undead creature who’s hit dice were equal to or greater than his character level.
Skills as Cleric. HD: d4
1st level: Undead Bane Spells: at 1st level, the Bane of Undead gains access to a small group of anti-undead spells. The The Bane of Undead may learn, cast, and prepare thease spells in the manner normal for their previous spellcaster class. Additionally, the Bane of Undead gains an extra spell per day at each spell level (for prepared casters such as wizards) or one extra spell known at each spell level (for spontaneous casters such as Sorcerers) from this list.
1st level: Destroy Undead: at 1st level, any spell cast by a Bane of Undead gains either +1d6 points of extra positive energy damage, and a +1 bonus to saving throw DC against undead creatures. At 5th level, this increases to +2d6/+2, and at 9th level to +3d6/+3
2nd level: Detect Undead: at 2nd level, the Bane of Undead may use Detect Undead at will.
3rd level: Turn Undead: at 3rd level, the Bane of Undead may turn undead as a cleric of his Bane of Undead level. If the Bane of Undead already possess the ability to turn undead, add his Bane of Undead class level to his effective cleric level for turning purposes.
4th level: Ward Death’s Touch: At 4th level a Bane of Undead may add his Wisdom modifier, if positive, to all saving throws against the spells, spell like, and supernatural abilities of undead.
6th level: Maximize Disruption: Once per day at 6th level, the Bane of Undead may cast a single spell that deals hit point damage, and it will deal maximum damage to any affected undead creature. Against other creatures the spell does normal damage. This does not change the spell slot used or casting time. At 10th level, the Bane of Undead may use this ability twice per day.
8th level: Disruption Blast: at 8th level, once per day, the Bane of Undead may release a blast of positive energy that damages undead. The blast is a cone shaped burst with a 60 foot range. It deals 1d8 points of damage per Bane of Undead level, only to undead. Such creatures are allowed a Reflex save for half damage. The Destroy Undead ability applies to this ability, and the Maximize Disruption ability may be applied as well.
10th level: Undeath’s Eternal Foe: at 10th level, the Bane of Undead becomes immune to energy drain, ability drain, and ability damage from undead sources. Additionally, he may add his Wisdom bonus as a deflection bonus to armor class against the attacks of undead creatures. Lastly, any undead creature destroyed by the Bane of Undead is forever destroyed and may not be restored by any means.
