Nice. I loved that book. I presume they'll be making some serious changes to it, since Nemo only appears near the end. And happens to be Indian.

I could be wrong, but wasn't Nemo originally written as Eastern European, possibly Polish for 20000 Leagues Under the Sea and somewhat revised for Mysterious Island? Something to do with the publisher...

Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Nemo

In the initial draft, Nemo was a Polish noble revengeful because of the murder of his family during the Russian repression of the Polish insurrection of 1863-1864. Verne's editor Pierre-Jules Hetzel feared a book ban in the Russian market and offending a French ally, the Russian Empire. He made Verne obscure Nemo's motivation in the first book. It's in the sequel (Mysterious Island), where Nemo presents himself as a Hindu fighting the British Empire.

I'm looking forward to this also, I liked the old film even though it was super cheesy. Don't recall a dog though, I'm assuming it's in the novel.

The showtimes. Does that mean it's a 4-part series, or that it's a 2-part series shown twice, or a 1 1/2 hour film shown 4x in one night? Confusion!

If you highlight each link, a little box pops up. It's a 2-part series, with each part being 1.5 hours. So 8-11 and then replay from 11-2.
