when a character becomes a naitive outsider by adding a template, do they still require sleep and food. i may be mistaken but i thought that outsiders do not require sleep or food. thanks for any help

I think the original idea behind outsiders is that they are "immortal" beings. They don't age and die of natural causes. If they needed to sleep, eat and drink, it means that they could starve for example, so they wouldn't be immortals due to natural causes. They are not alive in the same way mortals are, but they can be destroyed with force. I am glad that 3.5 introduced this clarification about them.
