Let's play a game guys!
Heres the rules:

First, I post a potential name for a power. Then the next person creates a power with that name. The power they create can be for any class, power source, level, whatever. It just has to use the name.

Once that person has created their power, they post it along with a name for the next power.

The next person to post critiques at least one of the powers previously made in the thread. That person then creates hir own power using the name that the previous poster came up with. Finally, that person suggest a name for the next power.

Each post continues this process.

Makes sense?

OK, so here is the first power name to start us off:

Twist the Knife

So the next person to post creates a power with that name, and then comes up with another name for the next person to create a power for.

Brutal Scoundrel: Hit or Miss, you also deal Strength modifier damage.

So, how about Shattering Parry or Nightmare Realm for a followup.

Very nice Keterys, dazed is going to be quite a boon at 1st level, but i think you've balanced that nicely with requirement of spending your whole turn focused on the one target.

As you incant the hideous words of this spell, a bank of lingering green mist spews from the ground. All those within fight imagined nightmares, wimper in fear or scratch at their own eyes in an effort to rid themselves of such torturing visions.

Target: Each creature in burst.
Attack: Intelligence vs. Will

Hit: 3d6 + Intelligence modifier psychic damage and 5 ongoing psychic damage (save ends). If the target fails its first saving throw it becomes dazed (save ends).
Effect: The burst creates a zone of clinging mist that evokes nightmare images in the minds of those within until the end of your next turn. Creatures that enter the zone or start their turns there take 1d6 + Intelligence modifier psychic damage and 5 ongoing psychic damage (save ends). If the target fails its first save it becomes dazed (save ends). As a move action you can move the zone 4 squares.
Sustain Minor: The zone persists

Admittedly, I don't have the best feel for balance in 4E, but this looks pretty reasonable.
I just wonder if it could be condensed a little to fit on a power card more easily.

Considering the forced movement and the size of the burst; and therefore the potentially many basic attacks (if you have a large, melee based party), i think this is perhaps a bit much, i'd suggest you give a bonus to attack or damage, but not both. Definately a cool power to describe happening :lol:
 

Also this definitely sounds pretty powerful for an encounter power - you could potentially get several free attacks off of it. Might be better as a Daily.

Actually, yeah; I agree whole-heartedly. I've just refered back to my homebrew class that has a similar power (sblocked below) that i was worried may be too powerful, and i think it's comparitively much weaker than yours (forced movement swaps out for slow effect, smaller radius & only a damage bonus).

Thanks! I'll fix it up later. Probably raise the level a little and make it a daily.

How about Ally's Delicious Fear or Impassable Gauntlet?

Edit: Oh, right, next name. Your choice of Fire Penguin Rage or Gleeful Sabotage.
