Name My Child

A Question

Are you sure that 5 or 10 years from now you want to explain to your child that you got his name from an internet message board frequented by people who are commonly preceived as social outcasts?

Once you reach a decision, if you do pull the name suggestion from this thread, I suggest you beg the moderators to erase all evidence of this thread. I also reccomend lying to the child about where you got his name.

END COMMUNICATION

Bah! Do what any red-blooded D&D'er would do: Dice for it! :D :D

Now that that's out of my system, I think Ryan Alexander, or Alexander Ryan (rolls off the tongue well) both sound good. And I agree with Airwolf, that James Alexander is cool.

Give him a hand full of middle names, and he can go by any of the four he likes when he is old enough to decide on his own. I also second what Henry said. Keep Xavier in there somewhere. Xavier is a great name, and some man has to put his foot down and push it past a woman's veto. Thirdly, don't name him Loki. For the love of god, don't do it.
~~Brandon (who wishes he was named Xavier)

P.S. Brandon Xavier isn't a bad name...

Well my fiancee is pregnant. This is both good and bad news, for reasons I will not go into here. We do have a dilema though. We are both deadset on names, different names.

I wish to name hime Alexander Xavier, She wants to name him Ryan James.

We have decided to allow the fine folks here at enworld, a place we both frequent, to help name our child. Your suggestions are welcome.

All of this talk suddenly sprang from the bowels of my memory a name of a friend I went to grade school with. His first name was Daxs, which was a also his initials: Daxs Alexander Xavier Stadujar. Just sprang to mind since you're looking at Alexander and Xavier.

Name him Anton Destro

No, really... DON'T LET FREAKS ON A MESSAGEBOARD NAME YOUR KID! Most of us probably shouldn't even be allowed to have kids, much less go around naming them;)

I noticed that no one has congratulated him on this joyous occurance. SO......CONGRATULATIONS! You have created a life! Must be neat to know that you're going to be a father. AS for names, I like all of the ideas suggested so far, but my advice is to go with something not out of the ordinary, yet completely unique.

I like the Idea that his initials would be AXE. If he ever became a gamer (here's hoping!) he'd have a cooler name than his characters!;)

Go into an ancient language spoken by your ancestors (gaelic, greek, latin, whatever) and come up with something unique.

Imagine yelling out the back door : "Damastoclese! Dinner's ready!!"

;)Just be original.;)

It used to be traditional in Quebec for children to be given at least three names (plus the surname). The first name would be Joseph (or Marie if the child was a girl), the second name would be that of some relative (like a grandparent), and the third name would be what the child was actually called.

And you end up like me : Joseph Jean-Paul (my maternal grand-father) Clément-Guillaume Godbout. Incidently, on my birth certificate the dash was dropped between Clément and Guillaume. So everyone started calling me just Guillaume, which is french for William, and it stuck.

Now just imagine writing that down on the hospital baby bracelet for a 3 lbs 2 oz. baby (I was born at 6.5 months). It seems the bracelet was wrapped twice around my arm.

Now as for the topic at hand... since it is a troll, I'll let the matter drop.

Have a nice day,
