Naruto is the best anime. EVAR.

Naruto is a newer series, currently in its third season now in Japan, and I believe it is up to episode #64.

And seriously, I have about six friends that enjoy anime like I do, and all of them, after seeing Naruto, wonder why it is so much cooler than anything else. We don't even share similar tastes in other anime/movies/tv shows/books.

I believe no company "owns" and distributes Naruto in the US, so the only way to get it is to download the fansubs on a peer-to-peer like Kazaa or using BitTorrent. Do yourself a favor and watch the first 5 episodes.

Please don't post to this thread saying Naruto is not all that because I will go Kage Bunshin No Jutsu on your a$$.


Edit: Oh, and get the ANBU fansubs/translations.

It involves ninjas that don't wear black. Child ninjas in large part. Their training and education about their world and their superiors. Their tests, missions, and growth. Political machinations that swallow them all. It's funny, dramatic, action-packed, *not pretentiously, fashionably dark*.

I'm trying to give people who haven't heard of it a head's-up, since I haven't seen it mentioned. I think many will get a kick out of it.

I wouldn't say it's the best series out right now, but it certainly is one of the best. I personnally found Full metal panic and junni kokki (12 kingdoms) to be better over all, and as for still running stuff Chrno Cruesade and Full metal Alchemist are as good or better then naruto. Still i'd recommend everyone jump on a check it out before igets liscenced and save yourself a buck, because as good as it is i don't think it will be long.

LOL Sir Osis, I disagree about the rankings as far as what is better but I wasn't serious about best EVAR anyway. I like some the animes you mention.

Naruto has its occasional moments. The first season was alright, but the second season was pretty much like Dragonball Z with less likable characters.

Between episodes 24 and 26, or something like that, the cast of the show quadruples, and thus the pacing of the show comes to an arupt, screeching halt. I jumped from episode 33 to episode 48 without actually missing anything. After episode 50, I decided to stop watching the show altogether.

The title character was an obnoxious idiot in episode 1, and he was still an obnoxious idiot in episode 50. He'll probably be an obnoxious idiot for the entire series.

I'll grant that Sasuke's cool. I'd would probably have liked the show if he was the main character. Unfortunately, he's not enough to compensate for the rest of the idiots in the show.

Sakura is simply the worst ninja ever. She does nearly nothing in the entire first season, and even when she got fed up with her own uselessness, she didn't actually improve or change anything. It's a sad, sorry thing when all you can say about what the main female character of the show has done is that she's cut her hair.

My final evaluation of Naruto is that it's a show that by all rights should be good, but fails to be actually be so.
