Heroic Strength?

The 'Mighty Lifting' power mentions 'Heroic Strength'. Yet, I cannot find any other mention of this power/feat/ability. What am I missing?

Duh! Our first bit of errata.

All the "Super-xxxxx" powers were originally called "Heroic-xxxx"; I didn't like that so changed them all to "Super-Strength", "Super-Speed" etc. I guess we missed that reference!

In the reference, it talks about having ranks divided between Heroic and Super strength. I assume there were two 'types' of super-strength before, and now there is only one?

FWIW, my mind is bubbling with ideas for this product...it is very cool as it is, but (no offense) I can see some things it's missing, and I might just plunder my own incomplete "Twenty Sided Supers" system for material to add (and release under the OGL, of course!)

Don't suppose if, I send you a receipt showing I'm a real-and-for-true purchaser of this product, you could send me the raw ASCII?

You know what - I'm wrong!

The "Heroic Strengh" is "Heightened Physical Ability - Strength".

We may well have had those ideas too. We had to keep the pdf in double digits (page-wise) because people hate big pdfs. You may well find that you ideas are already planned for the next book.

That would be wierd - people releasing supplements for our game! It'd be like we had our own SRD! if you want to do that, I'll give you all the help and support I can.

Ooooh...next book? Whenfore might that be coming out, and who do I have to kill to get on the playtester's list?

It's the "Big Book of Superpowers". We're also going to have a competition for people to submit powers, superfeats, templates etc. etc.

It'll contain:

*More superpowers
*more superfeats
*more templates
*sample NPCs using those powers

And more stuff. It's like a "splat book" for the main book. We aim to have it out in the next 2-3 months.

Lizard, sorry about that. It was my bad. We went through a lot of freaky changes . . . first it was just Super Strength, then I decided (without asking Russ) that it should be Heroic Strength, since our class was called the Hero. Then Russ said we should have it go back to Super Strength, but at the same time we were arguing about whether Super Strength should add bonuses to-hit. So, we finally decided to have two strength powers, one (super strength) that just made you hit harder, and the other (heightened strength) that gave a full bonus to Strength. Somewhere in there, the mighty lifting power got overlooked.

I'm wondering, though, what do you think we're missing?

Sigh. I think I'm coming off as a nitpicking jerk, which is NOT the impression I wanted to make...it's just that this is so cool (on first read) that I wanted about three times as much.

Here's a few things I spotted as 'missing'; it may just be that I haven't read the rules thoroughly. Please accept my apologies if they're in there.

Self-Duplication power, ala Triplicate Girl or Flashback. (I searched on 'duplicate', 'duplication, and 'clone')

"Usable against others" -- wh
at if I want to teleport someone else against their will, or make someone else phantasmal?

More super-senses: Radio hearing, for one. Or super-touch which lets you read a book by feeling the temperature difference between the ink and similar stunts.

'Lycanthrope' heroes: Some method by which you can create a character with multiple bodies and minds, in effect, two PCs or NPCs who 'swap'. (HulK/Banner, Billy Batson/Captain Marvel, Don Blake/Thor)

'Serial' heroes (don't feel bad, NO game out there easily handles these well): Sleeper from Wild Cards or 'Dial 'H' For Hero' types.

'Omnigadgets':"Fortunately, I happened to have my bat-shark repellent on me!" The ability of heroes to 'happen to have' the precise gimmick they need. (How about a feat which grants a small pool of 'undefined' hero points, which a Gadgeteer can 'define' in-play, but, once defined, they remain 'locked' until the gadgeteer has returned to his home base?)

'Dynamic' power levels: "I can defeat Dr. Megadeath with my ultra-burst -- but I'll need to drop my force field to do it!" Character who have a 'power source' which powers one or more powers, but whose total levels are in flux, i.e, someone who has flight, heightened defenses (defined as a force field granting a deflection bonus) and an energy attack, with ten total 'levels' divided among them, changeable each round.
I repeat -- I'm not trying to come off like a total jerk. I think 4C2F is damn great, and I'm glad I bought it. I have every intent of using it once I've given it a more detailed read-through. But, hey, you asked, and, maybe, some of these can make it into the supplement.

2 to 3 MONTHS? Sigh...."The long wait begins..."

Oh, don't worry, Lizard!

Most of those are just new powers, which is exactly what the next book is about. This one was supposed to sort of "cover the basics" as far as powers go, and go into detail on the structure of a superhero game, how to use powers - all the stuff that backs up the powers, rules-wise.

In the next book, we're aiming for over 100 new powers and over 30 new superfeats.

There are one or two thngs that didn't occur to us, there - great ideas! My suggestion: send 'em along when we start doing the new book. You'll get credited AND get a free copy of the book! :)
