Yeah, I know this is the wrong forum. But it's my site, so I'll do what I like! :)

Actually, it is on-topic, because if you buy this you'll be contributing towards the server costs.

Anyway - Nat 20's latest book is now available. I particularly like this one because it was my idea. It has a whole bunch of games and contests written by people from the boards here (you people should get an email from Rangerwickett shortly telling you how to get your free copies, btw).

"D20 sourcebook containing various "games within the game". Need rules for a card game or a fairground contest for your game? Need a quick archery tournament, or rules for arm-wrestling? Then this is the book for you! Also includes a sample tournament, fair and tavern making full use of these rules and plenty of new uses for old skills. This book also includes brand new d20 rules for drinking, a new system for the resolution of opposed skill and ability checks over time, a simple system for running competitions involving hundeds of competitors and much more.

Now your PCs can engage one another in a battle of wits, compete in an jousting tourney or a national poker competition. You can run exciting races and chases, indulge in a game of strategy or a magical duel. 29 games and contests of all different types, including martial contests, magical contests, common games of chance or skill and various fairground games. "

Got it. Looks nice. I don't really have time to look through it more thoroughly at the moment, so have nothing informative or interesting to say about it. The acknowledgements were good, though.

In an effort to see how well we did, the first person who posts a review of Tournaments, Fairs, & Taverns will get a free copy of either Wild Spellcraft or our next book, D20 Supers, slated to be released soon (pdf version for each). Brownie points for anyone who comes in 2nd place or thereafter. :)

I'll post a review later on (even without brownie points being awarded), just because the concept of this book is so cool.

BTW, how does one logoff the d20 Reviews page? Is it automatic or even possible? I registered and posted a review there earlier today, but I cannot discern the means by which one logsout.

Phenominal! :)

This is a great looking product and will prove useful to any campaign. Its material is well organized, cleanly layed out, and enhanced by the artwork within it's covers. Thumbs up to everyone involved in this project! :)

I can't think of a DM or Player who wouldn't find this product very useful. Whether using it to spice up an adventure with details and atmosphere at particular locations, clearing up challenges between PCs (or PCs and NPCs), or running an adventure by stringing together several of the well-written, clearly expressed ideas herein. I could even see a couple of players using the rules to have some quick one-on-one fun between regular sessions!

I'm extremely impressed with this, as I'm sure you can tell! :D

HOODY HOO!

Those drinking rules are great and something D&D was seriously lacking. I am glad you guys were able to step in and fill the gap.

A tremendous effort by all involved.

Well... after staying up a lot later than I expected, I posted a review of it! Unfortuantely, I had to make a new ID, because my old one "thundershot"... wouldn't work. I tried every password under the sun to no avail. So it's under Shotty instead. I'm not a professional reviewer or anything, so I did what I could. I didn't want to give away TOO much information. My eyes are straining a bit from reading it all over the past few hours...

Anyway, I'm already looking to incorporate this book into my 'inbetween adventures'. Heck, the drinking and gambling rules alone will keep my party plastered for days while gambling! Now I have rules for it!

Wonderful job, guys! And this from someone who thought the very idea of this book was silly... :D

The main ones would be Baal'meral'ruun (magical soccer, as Thundershot described it) and a full joust. It'd require a lot of effort to get it to work, and it will be at least a month away, but I'd like to look into it.

Thundershot, could you email me (RangerWickett at hotmail.com) so we can talk about how I could fulfill my end of the bargain. Do you want a copy of Wild Spellcraft, or would you rather get a copy of Supers when we finish it?

To all those who wrote items that were accepted to the book, I'm sorry that I haven't contacted you yet, but today was my Spiderman day. :) As psyched as I am, it's 4 in the morning here, so I'll have to send out your copies tomorrow afternoon. I'll post here tomorrow the names of contributors, to make sure I got everyone. So check back in about 12 hours.
