NBC's new shows

No thanks, Oprah is over rates, overpaid, slightly racist (though cleverly never in public) and has an overly developed sense of her importance...

Oprah is a shrewd businesswoman and entertainer who doesn't crush people to make her money, putting her miles above Trump.

As to being racist, show me one person who isn't at least slightly racist.

I Love that song - saw the Broadway cast do it a couple weeks back. As for crushing others, look a little deeper into her time when she was an up and coming news person in Baltimore, they still talk about her a little offhandedly. She isn't all the sunshine and sparkles she appears to be; sure no person is, but I just get a little sick off hearing about Saint Oprah, especially living in Illinois. Sorry if I come off a bit harsh about it, it's just a personal pet peeve.

I'm sorry, but when did I say she was sunshine and sparkles? Try reading what people write before you put words in their mouths.

I said the whole flavor and tenor of the show would be different -- and it would be. That alone is reason enough to try someone new. The fact that Trump made a complete ass of himself in public and wasted time pretending to run for president when he clearly had no intention of doing so has just made him even more of a sideshow attraction than he already was. His heavy involvement with the-you-know-what "movement" is sufficient reason for NBC to cut their losses and find someone else.

I've loved Apprentice, both regular & celebrity, since Season 1. But this year, Trump's off-camera antics were enough to make me skip any further iterations of "The Apprentice" where he is involved. I'm sure I'm not the only person, and NBC must realize that.

Didn't mean to imply that you had, I was just making a statement about her public persona, I'm really not attacking you, really, so deep breath.

I agree about DT, there were some political pundits that even conjectured that he was a Democratic plant to screw up the Republican nomination. He's shrewd, but I'm not sure he's that shrewd. I think it was more of a last grasp at his slipping fame, "The Apprentice" had horrible ratings this last go-round and it was pretty evident that it was dying a slow death.

Of course, since this is an NBC show, it's still one of their top-rated... XD

Actually, Oprah's about to be done with her show. Personally, not only would I watch a show with Oprah finding an Apprentice (among regular people) to work at OWN, but I imagine thousands of people would apply for it.

She's almost done with her own syndicated show, but she's stated she may do a similar show on her OWN cable channel. There's no reason for NBC to help the mogul of another network get free press for that other network.
